Our Philosophy
At Cadmus Tutorials, we guide students to Think, Connect, and Master:
build foundations, apply knowledge, excel in academics and develop lifelong skills.

Think
Develop the foundations of learning: the ability to question, analyze, and understand deeply. For younger students, this means building strong skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Connect
Go beyond memorization by linking ideas across subjects and applying knowledge in new contexts. When students learn to connect the dots, they position themselves for success in classes, AP exams, standardized tests, and college readiness.
Master
True mastery goes beyond grades or diplomas. It means fully inhabiting what you’ve learned and applying it not only to academics and professional goals but also to your own life and society at large.
“James not only helped my son get into his top-choice college — he inspired a genuine love of learning.”
“James has worked with my son since 7th grade, guiding him through essays, literary analysis, AP History, and AP English. His support was instrumental in helping my son gain admission to his top-choice college. Beyond that, James inspired a love of history, which is now my son’s favorite subject. Our family has had countless conversations sparked by the lessons he’s learned.”
— Lily T., Parent of a High School Senior

Meet Your Tutor.
Hello, I’m James — welcome to Cadmus Tutorials.
From an early age, I’ve had a passion for learning — fueled by a lifelong fascination with history and a desire to understand why humans act the way they do. For over a decade, I’ve brought that same enthusiasm to my work as a tutor, helping students not just raise their grades, but truly connect with what they’re learning.
My goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Whether it’s untangling the complexities of AP History or sharpening writing skills, I believe every lesson should spark curiosity and build confidence. I don’t just prepare students for the next test — I help them think deeply, love learning, and see how history and language shape the world around us.
Join me — and let’s cultivate curiosity for life.

Real Impact:
A parent's testimonial
"James is a lifesaver. My son was struggling in AP U.S. History, and his grades at the start of the year were really suffering. James not only helped him understand the dense material—ultimately earning an A in the class—but, more importantly, he inspired a genuine passion for the subject. Many of our dinner conversations became lively history discussions, with my son excitedly sharing the fascinating things James had taught him. James is passionate about his work, patient with his students, and one of my son’s favorite teachers ever."

Why 'Cadmus'?

Just as Cadmus sparked transformation through literacy, our sessions aim to spark each student's intellectual awakening.
